Updated COVID-19 SOP For Travellers

Effective 1st August 2022, inbound travellers to Malaysia will no longer need to fill in the Traveller’s Card on the country’s contact tracing app, MySejahtera.

The Health Ministry will continue monitoring travellers’ health symptoms at all international points of entry into Malaysia. Upon arrival in Malaysia, if the traveller is detected to have fever through the thermal scanner or found to be unwell, they will be referred for re-examination by the health department. After re-examination, if there is a suspected illness due to COVID-19, monkeypox or MERS-CoV, the traveller will be taken to a nearby health facility for further check-up and treatment.

Inbound travellers to Malaysia should self-monitor their health, comply with the standard operating procedures (SOP) and are advised to go to a health facility if they are unwell.

For updates on COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures for entry into Sabah or additional support please contact Dygku Nadiah Pg Abd Halim at [email protected].
